			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Growing up through the difficult teenage years and into my early twenties, I felt very sorry for myself. I used to think I was the most unluckiest person in the world. I had a bald patch the size of a ten pence piece on my head, a speech impediment(stutter), I was overweight to the point of being fat, and was short for a male(5ft4).</p>
<p>I believed that I received more mickey taking out of me than anyone else, and life was certainly a struggle. To meet members of the opposite sex when you have a lack of confidence and a <a target="_blank" href="http://www.powerstuttering.com">stuttering</a> problem is not easy. To gain work, order drinks, socialise in general, these were all difficult for me. Everyone else seemingly breezed and eased there way through life.</p>
<p>To my surprise a friend a work (aged 30yrs my senior) commented that in his opinion I was the most negative and depressive person he had ever met. He went on by stating that I was always negative about most things in life, always moaning about this or that and very rarely smiled~He continued that I would rarely smile and often thought in a negative manner}. He went on to say that he had used to be like me, always depressed, moody and stressed until he was given some advice when he was aged thirty. He then proceeded to give me the same advice.</p>
<p>You need to realise that however bad your life may seem to be that other people around the world are far worse off; just watch the news on the television and read the quality press and you will soon see that this is the case.</p>
<p>I thought about this and started to follow what he had said. I now realise how stupid I had been. To be born and live in the UK, I am one of the lucky ones.</p>
<p>My life has now improved big time and I now have a successful business life in the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.adaptatech.co.uk">DVD authoring</a> and <a target="_blank" href="http://www.talkforless.co.uk">cheap telephone calls</a> sectors.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There are many types of stutter therapy including stutter cure courses or traditional speech therapy. I have overcome a stutter and in this article I describe what it is like to be fluent for me.</p>
<p> I am now able to order food and drink for example, without fear of a <a target="_blank" href="http://www.stammering-stuttering.co.uk">stutter</a>, speak on the telephone and am able to enjoy socialising. I have become a more positive person, life is no longer the struggle it once used to be. I appreciate my speech compared with the average fluent person, who does not realise how lucky they are. Some would even say that I talk too much, but this is something I will never apologise for &#8211; when I had a stutter I hardly spoke at all.</p>
<p> As a person with a stutter, I seemed to accept second best. At the age of sixteen I left high school; not because I was not clever enough to stay on for further education but because I had had enough of people at school mocking my speech impediment. The stutter also affected my ability to meet girls as I basically did not have the confidence to talk to them. My <a target="_blank" href="http://blog.stammering-stuttering.co.uk">stuttering</a> mind convinced me that I could do no better. I was unhappy where I worked, but just accepted it; I did not feel able to put myself through the interview process again.</p>
<p>I now run The <a target="_blank" href="http://www.stutter-stuttering.com">How To Stop Stammering</a> Centre where I run one-to-one speech therapy courses to help people to achieve fluency. As well as these courses I also offer a variety of self-help options including the ever popular seventy minute DVD, an audio book and an e-book. All of these self-help options include full descriptions of the techniques which I successfully used to overcome my own speech impediment.</p>

My life seemed to be such a struggle compared to other people who seemingly breezed through life. I was caught up in a web of negativity and needed someone or something to help me to escape.</p>
<p> Then I met a man who was around fifty while working on a project at work, we were employed at a <a target="_blank" href="http://www.justvaluedoors.com">front doors</a> company. We were having a chat one day when he stated that I was a depressive person who rarely smiled. What he said was quite upsetting and disturbing, however would have a profound effect on my future.</p>
<p> To say that this rocked me back on my heels would have been an understatement as my colleague continued; &#8220;You are Steve, you are a complete stress head and are never happy or positive about anything&#8221;.</p>
<p> This man was aged around fifty three and continued, I used to be like you and then I was given some advice, of which I am now going to relay to you. Start to watch and read the news when you start to feel the blues/become depressed. You may then realise that you are in fact one of the lucky ones.</p>
<p> I listened and thought about what he had said. I had never been a big reader or watcher of the news, but decided to start~For whatever reason the news has never really interested me however I decided that I would make the effort etc}. The advice was totally correct, the news from around the world and even my own country was quite shocking. It soon became evident that in reality I had very little to fret about &#8211; it was now time for a fresh approach to life &#8211; to think positively.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I want you to know that there&rsquo;s no better time than to get excited about your life and goals &#8211; not because it&#8217;s going to turn 2010, it&#8217;s simply because today is always the best time.</p>
<p>There are 5 areas of life and <a href="http://www.patricchan.name" target='_blank'>self improvement</a> that I would seek to improve &#8211; health, relationship, spirituality, financial wealth and personal growth. None of them are at a higher priority than the others as they&#8217;re all holistically balanced to create the right combination of success in life.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a fact that if you don&#8217;t have financial wealth, your life could be slightly &#8216;inconvenient&#8217;. If you gonna give me the lecture that the monks and priests live happily ever after without seeking wealth, then I&#8217;m not going to argue with you. But look &#8211; you&#8217;re no monk or priest so be real, nothing to be embarrassed of. </p>
<p> Money is never evil. It&#8217;s a big wrong myth that rich people are arrogant, greedy or selfish and as a matter of fact, most of them are the opposite. So I would suggest you to make your <a href="http://www.successandlife.com" target='_blank'>goal settings</a> in 2010 to get to know some millionaires and rich people to learn what their secrets to wealth are. Who knows &#8211; they might even pass you some opportunities you can work together with them.</p>
<p>If you think you&#8217;re poor today, it&#8217;s because you &#8216;choose&#8217; to become this way by your acts and thoughts. Same thing &#8211; if you&#8217;re rich, it&#8217;s because the way how you act upon opportunities and think of positive outcomes. It&#8217;s hard to believe but the fact is, I&#8217;ve received emails asking me to give them money for no reason except that they believe in Law of Attraction and want the Universe (who is me in this case) to give them money from my pocket? No wonder they&#8217;re broke and poor because they don&#8217;t take responsibility to for their own future. People just don&#8217;t understand how Law of Attraction actually works.</p>
<p>Look &#8211; you have to work for your own success. If you&#8217;re smart, you buy some courses or attend seminars to uncover the shortcuts or just take the long road by testing out on your own. Your choice. Both ways are fine and both still require work. In 2010, I&#8217;ll focus more on creating multiple income streams (MSI). Now, MSI does not means that you got to have different kinds of income streams &#8211; it simply means you have more income streams. For instance, I will create income streams from offline publication books, seminars with other speakers and so on. So focus on what you already have or doing very well, then &#8216;branch&#8217; out from there.</p>
<p>The other 2 important areas that are usually missed out when someone pursue the goal of attaining financial wealth is relationship and health. My friend, time flies very fast. Within a blink of an eye, you&#8217;ll see your children already grown up or your folks getting old. So cherish what you have now because by end of the day, your success is actually measured by the relationship that you have &#8211; not the money in your bank account. I&#8217;ve experience this from the sad and happy angle, when my Grandma passed away and also, seeing my baby girl growing right now in 2009.</p>
<p>Health? Put it this way, you can&#8217;t enjoy spending your money earned if you don&#8217;t have the body and mind to enjoy it. But I can tell you this &#8211; don&#8217;t be a health freak and miss out the joy of life. I mean, don&#8217;t eat cheese burger every day but hey, don&#8217;t torture yourself of not eating that because you&#8217;re worried that you&#8217;re going to get heart attack or something. Life is a short journey, you won&#8217;t know what&#8217;s coming tomorrow so enjoy your food but just don&#8217;t overdo it. Dude, I&#8217;m not asking you to take drugs, it&#8217;s a cheese burger for Pete&#8217;s sake.</p>
<p>One more thing about health &#8211; if you can afford it, do take supplements especially those green stuff supplements. Our food and environment are getting worse so you need whatever &#8216;effortless&#8217; thing to give you the edge to stay focus, energetic and vibrant when you&#8217;re on track to success.</p>
<p>Spirituality comes from within. Whether it&#8217;s your connection to your inner voice, your God, Law of Attraction or others, it gives you the harmony and peace in your mind. You need that. You&#8217;ve seen and heard of stories people &#8216;let go&#8217; of everything and pursue a greater goal because they have aligned with their spirituality part and ultimately, it leads to happiness. My point? Spirituality leads to happiness. Funny thing is, although our ultimate goal is suppose to be happy but you don&#8217;t hear many people going to seminars that teach about happiness because they thought money will make them happy and so on. The truth&#8230; happiness is obtain when you&#8217;re grateful with what you have and understands that you have a beautiful life &#8211; regardless of who you are.</p>
<p>And lastly, I&#8217;ll be seeking for more personal growth in 2010. Personal growth is about enriching your experience and expanding your knowledge. You see, the only thing that does not change is Change itself. So if you want to transform yourself into a better person in any positive angle, then I highly suggest you to uncover many more secrets to personal growth that you are still unaware of. Whether you will attend more seminars to learn about success, listen to self improvement audios or read more <a href="http://www.patricchan.name/196/setting-goals-in-2010-what-to-expect/" target='_blank'>self improvement blog</a>, it is your responsibility to continue &#8216;upgrading&#8217; yourself everytime. No one&#8217;s going to motivate you or give you the cutting edge strategies for success &#8211; you got to seek that out for yourself because, again, it&#8217;s your life.</p>
<p>One more thing &#8211; stop telling people about your sad story or TELLING YOURSELF, get over that and start thinking how you can reach your goals (but please, not by asking the Universe to give you money). You might think it&#8217;s easy for me to say this today because I&#8217;m &#8216;Patric Chan&#8217; or any of those craps&#8230; think again, bucko. I used to be in the same shoes as yours too and I belive so do Robert Kiyosaki, Robert Allen, Mark Victor Hansen, Anthony Robbins, Jack Canfield and all of those gurus you admire and respect. So in all fairness, I think if you start taking full responsibility for your life and create the eagerness to be far more supreme than where you are right now, you &#8216;Chan&#8217; do it. The way I would cope with these words was by either avoiding them or by findng an alternative word to say. This was not always easy and these difficult words were always on my mind. I had a lifetime goal which was to attain total fluency; I often dreamt of the day when I would be able to say any word regardless of what letter it began with.</p>
<p> Many different situations would be affected by the stutter, for example I found job interviews very stressful as I would stutter more when I was under pressure.</p>
<p> At the aged of 16 I began to drink alcohol and a short while later I became drunk for the very first time. The results were quite amazing as I could now talk really well. My overall self-confidence and self-esteem had been given a huge boost &#8211; even though it was without doubt only a temporary one. The fear of <a target="_blank" href="http://www.stutter-stuttering.com">stuttering</a> disappeared and the words began to flow.</p>
<p> I was hoping that the new found stutter-free speech would continue in the morning &#8211; this was not to be the case. Feeling very tired and hungover, my speech impediment returned in a big way. The previous nights experience had though, for the first time given me a belief that one day I could possibly eradicate my stutter.</p>

Given his situation, he could only possibly pay off $2,400 of his debt, which would also leave him with no spending money and no saved money. A more realistic plan would be to pay $50/week for the next 3 years.</p>
<p> Often a person finds it easy to set goals for their financial future. The hard part comes in implementing those goals. Say you are planning to retire. Basically, there are 3 ways to secure a financial future. You can build alternative income streams, increase money from each stream and reduce living expenses. So, in looking at building alternative income streams, you can invest money in the stock market, invest in a side business, tap into your pension and tap into your social security. To increase income from these streams, you can learn to invest, change your risk tolerance level, call your former employers to collect your pension and hold off on collecting your social security so your pay-out increases. Then, as short term goals, you can focus on reducing your living expenses by eliminating debt/interest payments, living more frugally and choosing low-cost alternative products and services.</p>
<p> There are many types of financial goals you can choose. You may set goals to pay off debt, which will make you beholden to no one and grant you more freedom to plan for future purchases. You may wish to set up an emergency fund of at least ,000 to cover car breakdowns, medical bills or home repairs. You can plan to save for retirement, college or a down payment on a house.
