On Tuesday October 27th I was present at the ‘Hong Kong – Guangdong Business Conference in Sydney 2009’, I was very privileged to be present and listen to the thoughts and views of some high calibre politicians and business on Business links between Australia and China. Among them H.E. Zhang Junsai the Chinese Ambassador to Australia, the Hon. Huang Huahua – Governor of Guangdong, the Hon. Henry Tang – Hong Kong Chief Secretary for Administration who was very witty in places. We were extremely fotunate also to have present the Hon Nathan Rees, NSW Premier who spoke at the start of the conference, during his speech he said something that really stuck in my mind and goes for a large number of people. When talking about the current economic situation around the world and referencing it to how both Australia and China have weathered that storm plus the trade relations between the two countries, how things have hit a turning point and where we should head from here he said this “Now is the time to be bold”.

So how is it that now is the time to be bold? In a simple and pure way what Nathan Rees refered to is that within both Australia and China the economies are at a point where action taken leads to great opportunities and great growth. The real question is, are you really ready to be bold? Do you have the interia within to achieve the maximum from the curent situation with the ability to actually carry it through in a way that engenders the reaping from the potential within the opportunity of the maximium result possible.
